Celebrate 50 Years of Milestone Moments
For half a century, the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium (VMA) has brought Marin together—concerts, graduations, community performances, civic events, and everything in between. Help us honor this legacy by sharing a memory, photo, or short video that captures what the VMA means to you.
How it Works
- Tell us your moment
Write a brief story (up to 500 words) about a specific event or experience at the VMA—what happened, when it took place, and why it mattered to you. - Add photos or video (optional)
Upload up to three files: photos (JPG/PNG), short video (MP4/MOV, about 3 minutes), or audio (MP3). Add a short caption to help us understand the context. - Submit & consent
Confirm you have permission from anyone recognizable in your media. Parent/guardian consent is required for minors. Our team will review submissions and contact you if yours is selected for public sharing.
What to Submit
• Photos — JPG/PNG, up to ~10 MB each. Clear, well-lit images work best. Add a caption (e.g., “Backstage after the 1983 graduation”).
• Videos — MP4/MOV, about 3 minutes or less. Keep shots steady and audio clear. If your file is large, trim or compress before uploading.
• Stories & Audio — Up to 500 written words or an MP3 audio clip. Focus on one moment: what you saw, heard, and felt.
Tip: Authenticity beats perfection. We’re looking for meaningful memories across decades of VMA history.
Rights and Permissions
• You own your story and media. By submitting, you grant the County of Marin permission to share it for public information and celebration (website, exhibits, social channels, printed materials).
• Only submit materials you created or have permission to share.
• Make sure anyone recognizable in your media has agreed to be included. For minors, parent/guardian consent is required.
• We review all submissions and may edit for length or clarity. Not all submissions can be published.
• You can ask us to update or remove your submission later by contacting us.
Selection Considerations
We aim to feature a wide range of voices and experiences that:
• Connect clearly to a specific VMA event or era
• Include concise storytelling and helpful captions
• Reflect the diversity of Marin’s community and the auditorium’s history
